# Modeling Agent

Drivepoint’s Modeling Agent lets you explore “what ifs” instantly — without ever opening your model.

\
Type a question in plain English (“What if shipping costs double?”), and the Agent updates your live forecast in seconds, showing the financial impact across revenue, margin, and cash flow.

#### **Why it matters** Finance teams can now:

* Model decisions anywhere — even before a board meeting or during Monday’s exec sync.
* Run scenarios collaboratively without Excel bottlenecks.
* Maintain model integrity while iterating freely.

#### **How to Use It**

1. **Navigate to the "Plans" page** and select “Agent”
2. **Type a question** in natural language — e.g.:
 * “What if AOV drops by $3?”
 * “What if we cut Meta spend by 20% next quarter?”
 * “What if shipping costs for DTC double?”
 * “What if subscription orders grow 15%?”
3. **Review the output:** The Agent simulates the change in driver values directly, recalculates your key outputs, and shows the updated summary.
4. **Save as scenario:** You can compare this version to other cases side-by-side, export as a tearsheet, or include it in your board deck.

#### **Scenarios That Work Best Today**

* Revenue growth & demand changes (AOV, CAC, first-time vs returning order mix)
* Cost structure & margin optimization (COGS %, fulfillment cost, ad spend)
* Operating expenses (headcount, software, marketing cuts)
* Cash flow sensitivity (payment terms, DPO, shipping costs)

#### 💡**Pro Tips**

* Be specific: “Cut Meta ad spend by 20% next quarter” works better than “reduce marketing.”
* Include time frames: “next quarter,” “in 2026,” etc.

### **🧠 How to Customize the Modeling Agent**

Drivepoint’s Modeling Agent adapts to your unique model structure.\
When you add or update *key drivers* in your plan, the agent automatically learns about them — usually within a few minutes.

That means you can expand what the agent understands just by defining your own levers.

**Example:**\
If you want the agent to help you test *product or pricing* scenarios:

1. Open the **Product** tab in your Drivepoint plan.
2. Add new inputs (like “Unit Price,” “Product Launch Date,” or “Discount Rate”) as **key drivers.**
3. Within minutes, the agent will recognize these drivers and start using them in your “what if” questions — no retraining or setup required.

You and your team can use this to teach the agent about:

* New products or channels you want to test
* Pricing or discount strategies
* Operational cost levers unique to your business

This makes the agent smarter over time — reflecting exactly how *your* company thinks about growth and profitability.

### **🚧 In Progress**

We’re continuing to expand the agent’s coverage and reasoning:

* **Comparing Scenarios:** currently you can create/work in one scenario. We're working on expanding that capability
* **Templates:** We're working on providing templates of drivers that can help guide which scenarios to run

You can accelerate this by defining your own key drivers.\
Once you add them, the agent learns — giving you the power to create smarter “what ifs” on your terms.

Does it automatically make the changes?

No. It just visualizes the proposed changes and only if you confirm to save it to the existing plan or a new plan does it make the change in Excel

What AI models are you using?

We're natively integrated with Gemini, OpenAI and Anthropic.
