Period-over-period comparisons
To compare values across time periods (this month vs. last, this quarter vs. last year):
On a date field, click the three-dot menu.
Choose Period over period.
Pick the comparison range: previous week, month, quarter, or year.
A "Compare to" column appears automatically.
Date range controls on dashboards
To let viewers change the date range across every tile at once, add a Control (not a Filter):
On the dashboard, click Add → Control.
Search for the date field.
Set Period over period if you want viewers to compare time ranges.
Set the default range.
Under Mapping, confirm the control affects all tiles.
⚠️ Why a Control, not a Filter? Filters don't work with period-over-period comparisons. If you want viewers to change a date range and compare it to another period, you need a Control.
Schedule a report by email
You can have any report or dashboard delivered to your inbox on a schedule (daily, weekly, monthly). Inside the workbook or dashboard, look for the delivery / scheduling option in the menu — set the recipients, frequency, and time.
